Using Gate Counters to Social Distance
As they begin open again, libraries will be required to control library occupancy levels post shelter in order to adhere to local regulations regarding social distancing indoors.
Using the FE Technologies Library Live dashboard application, staff can see at a glance how many people are in the library at any given time. The application uses data from our bi-directional people counter on the Security Gates, and shows you the number of people exiting and entering the library and the number of people currently in the branch.
This gives library staff a “heads up” when the library is reaching its capacity and a staff member can be placed at the entranceway to manage the people entering. You could even display the people count live on a screen.
Social distancing can be better controlled when you know how many people can be in a given space at one time whilst still remaining a safe distance apart from each other.
